LABRUM/CIFF

A Wednesday in February 2023 I went to CIFF the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair to do a fotoshoot with the awesome and inspiring brand LABRUM LONDON. At LABRUM, they work with indigo and gara/adire fabric with the aim to showcase the process of how some of their fabrics come to life. The ‚Kofar Mata’ installation was inspired by the traditional dye pit in Kofar Mata, Kano. Founded in 1498, the Kofar Mata pits are said to be the oldest in Africa and are the only survivor of Kano’s dye trade, which produced beautiful fabrics using ancient techniques. Such a fun experience to photograph, lots of colors and interesting work of art. Because it really was. A work of art and how inspiring it was to follow the whole proces.
